Malaysia

Malaysia is an exotic, richly diverse and fascinating country. It’s vibrant and interesting fusion of Malay, Chinese and Indian cultures and customs with colonial influences, a modern and cosmopolitan capital and fine beaches make this a luxury holiday destination you will want to return to again and again.

Kuala Lumpur has grown dramatically over the last century into a modern bustling city, whilst retaining its historical character. The multi-cultural heritage of the city is reflected in the buildings and the variety of shops and eateries found in abundance around the capital. Lose yourself in this city of contrasts, where its Colonial past jostles for attention with state-of-the-art super-structures. Visit the bustling and colourful Chinatown to sample some of the delicious delicacies on offer; Merdeka Square, the traditional heart of the city, where the city’s elite meet or The Golden Triangle, a small city in itself, where the iconic Petronas Towers dominate the skyline. Kuala Lumpur is a shopper's paradise with a huge variety of goods available, many of which are duty-free, yet there are plenty of museums, galleries and the Lake Gardens, if you fancy a change of scene. The breathtaking Cameron Highlands in Central Malaysia is a lush and verdant colonial hill station providing essential respite from the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. Lined with tea plantations and strawberries, this part of Central Malaysia has a cooler climate and delightfully fresh air. In addition to visiting the plantations themselves, visitors can learn about tealeaf production in Central Malaysia.

The East Coast Peninsular of Malaysia feels far removed from the rest of the world, with long stretches of white beach and towering palm trees on the edge of the South China Sea. Beautiful reefs await beneath the turquoise water’s surface where snorkelers and divers can see brightly coloured coral, sea turtles and a myriad of other incredible species. East Coast Malaysia’s seclusion makes it a perfect and luxurious honeymoon destination.

Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 beautiful islands in the northwest corner of Peninsular Malaysia on the Thai-Malaysian sea border. This is truly an un-spoilt tropical paradise of crystal-clear emerald waters, azure skies, lush green vegetation, magical waterfalls and wondrous limestone formations. Pulau Langkawi is the largest island and one of only two inhabited islands boasting luxurious elegant 5 star hotels, it is stunningly beautiful and as with all of Langkawi appeals to those seeking relaxation as well as adventure; here you can head off jungle trekking or explore the ocean canoeing or beneath the waves diving. The weather is best between November and April and, with some fabulous family friendly hotels, Langkawi makes a fantastic destination for a family holiday at both Christmas and Easter.

For a real slice of paradise, the privately owned island of Pangkor Laut on West Coast Malaysia provides ultimate luxury; easily accessed via a short boat ride or scenic helicopter transfer. This stunningly idyllic island combines vibrant nature with secluded bays and pristine beaches, perfect for a romantic honeymoon or get away.

Ramadan is celebrated in Malaysia for one month each year. This is a period of fasting when the pace of life is slower, public areas are busier and there are certain restrictions for example drinking alcohol. Your Revere Travel consultant will work with you to develop a bespoke package so you too can find your ideal Malaysia.
